Keep it Calm: How to Live through OCD?

Some people might think that people who are born with severe to acute tendency of OCD are people with an extreme liking for order and organization, and people who are usually erudite and intellectual. People often associate being a genius in having an OCD tendency. Chances are, when people are anal and strictly obsessed with order and planning – they are people with OCD tendency – people with a bright future and huge potential in their cabin. But not for you. As someone living with OCD, it is not always the same thing. To love with OCD does not guarantee a solid and bright future.

You know better than being intellectual and extremely and impeccably organizes. You are a person of horrors and full-blown panic attacks. You are someone with raging thoughts and bating breaths. You are someone dealing with the endless voices in your head urging you to repeatedly check on something you know you already did. It’s not promising. For you to live with an obsessive and compulsive thinking is a condition to which you are deeply and miserably imprisoned. You are imprisoned inside your mind and all the loud whispers and hisses of your own obsessive and compulsive thinking.

You want all of it to shut off, just a little bit, even for a while. You badly want to breathe and live another day without constantly troubling yourself with daily dread of thinking unhealthy again. You want to get better because somehow your thoughts are killing you and it is refraining you from functioning better. You are anxious most of the times and you wish you’re not – most of the time, too. How are you going to be free from all of these enslaving thoughts? What could be done for you to live a normal-like life and exist and breathe like a normal person? What could be done? What can you do?

You want to know the answer because the longer you suffer the worse it gets and the harder for you to recover. Every day is a struggle, every day you wake up to a dread of endless thoughts and worst-case scenarios flooding your mind frantically and remorselessly. There is no silence in the mind of a person with OCD and you know this because you hear them and you feel them: the danger, the threat, the possible contamination, the diseases, you imagine them and even before they happen you already experienced them – inside your head – constantly.

If you want an out, we advise you to bravely look for an option that does not bury you deep into more suffering. You need professional help. Although it is aid that OCD can be a lifetime ordeal, still it does not mean you need to give up and just abandon all sorts of hopes. There is a way for you to feel better and manage your thoughts. There are techniques and therapies offered for people like you. Grab the chance and indulge in it. You need to live through with this and you will because it’s possible.
